Our KinkyKurly Selkirks... Show Alters
In 2010, I started my search for a Championship breed to show in TICA and I realized for each breed, I could easily find the beauty within, but I was drawn to the curly coated ones...
In July 2010, at the Midpacific Regional, I was blessed to meet a Selkirk Rex breeder with three adorable kittens at the show. I sat and we chatted and I was enthralled by her curly little babies as well as thrilled by how much the breeder obviously loved her kittens as well as the Selkirk Rex breed!
This is how we brought home our first Selkirk Rex... His call name is Cole and his full name is Susens Jeepers Creepers of Allearz.
Cole is an amazing solid black Selkirk. He has a very mellow personality and he always charms everyone he meets. He looks like a plushie and makes me smile every day.
Cole's first cat show was the TICA 2010 Annual in Santa Clara. At five months of age, I was shocked when he took Best of Breed more then once and then utterly tickled when he was called back for a Final! Cole placed 8th in a kitten class of 116! In Cole's second cat show, as an adult, he placed in six finals- including 1st All Breed Cat and 2nd All Breed Cat! He earned his Grand Champion title in his first weekend as an adult cat! He is currently a Double Grand Champion and continues to impress everyone he meets! (See Cole & Austin's show photos on our professional photo page!). Cole has continued to impress us in 2011 and is currently a Triple Grand Champion Alter.
If interested in a sweet curly baby, I recommend Susan, Cole's breeder. Susan is honest, loving, and takes great care of her kittens- I couldn't recommend her more! Email Susen Cattery.
Our Selkirk adventures are just beginning...
